Chelsea vs. Liverpool, Juve vs. Milan, Barcelona, and more
Let FotMob and The Assist guide you through the last weekend before the international break
With club football, at least at the top level, coming to a halt on Sunday, you better make the most of the next few days. Here, we do the hard part for you by laying out all the top games taking place. You just need to follow them in the app and check the FotMob TV schedule to see where you can watch them.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool
After suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time since March, Arne Slot must rally his troops for Saturday evening’s trip to Stamford Bridge.
Creating chances hasn’t been the problem for the Reds but a failure to convert them cost them deeply at Crystal Palace last weekend, where they missed five out of six Opta defined ‘big chances,’ and at Galatasaray during the week, where they missed another three.
Chelsea haven’t had it all their own way either of late, but Enzo Maresca will be buoyed by getting one over on Benfica, and club legend José Mourinho on Tuesday. Prior to that result, Chelsea had only one win in five, and that came at third tier side Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.
These two met three times last season with Liverpool winning at Anfield and at Wembley, in the final of last season’s Carabao Cup, but then going on to suffer defeat at at Chelsea in the midst of an end-of-season wobble that saw their league title win delayed.
Now though, it’s all about getting back on track for both these sides before the enforced gap in the fixture list caused by the October international break.
Arsenal vs. West Ham
New West Ham boss Nuno Espírito Santo is searching for his first win since joining the club late last month and he may be confident of getting that this weekend as the Hammers travel across London to visit Arsenal.
The Emirates has been a happy hunting ground for West Ham over the past two seasons, with a 2-0 victory in the 2023/24 season followed up with a 1-0 win in February. Jarrod Bowen scored the only goal in that game and the England international is on form again having netted in each of his last two.
Arsenal have, of course, established some form of their own in going six games without defeat. The Gunners could go top of the Premier League - for a couple of hours at least - with kick-off in this one coming just ahed of when leaders Liverpool play their game.
Juventus vs. Milan
Milan overcame reigning champions Napoli in the last Serie A matchday and now Maxi Allegri’s vastly improved side must prove their credentials again, this time against Juventus.
Allegri and Juve have some previous history - five Scudettos and five Coppa Italia levels of previous history - but he was acrimoniously sacked by the Old Lady following his pitchside behaviour at the 2024 Coppa Italia final. Despite Juve lifting the trophy that year, Allegri was consistently berating the officials and even fell out with his own sporting director.
Now, he’s back at Milan, the club he also coached prior to taking the Juve job in 2014. He has has overseen four wins and a single defeat so far. Juve go in to the weekend fourth in the table but still unbeaten following three wins and two draws.

Sevilla vs. Barcelona
Barcelona went to the top of the early season table in LaLiga following their win and Real Madrid’s shocking defeat in the Madrid Derby last weekend. And with Madrid playing first again this weekend (against Villarreal on Saturday), there’s every chance that the lead will change once again, and Barcelona will be left needing a win at Sevilla on Sunday in order to leapfrog their age old rivals.
After Sevilla narrowly avoided relegation by a single point last season, their fans may be satisfied with the kind of middling form they have shown to start this campaign (three wins, three defeats, one draw). You can’t keep a club with their pedigree down for long, not when they can still attract players like former-Barcelona man Alexis Sánchez, who, despite now being 36, has already scored and assisted since joining in the summer.
Barca need to bounce back after their unbeaten start to 2025/26 ended against PSG on Wednesday but the recent history of this fixture suggests that is likely, with their last loss to Sevilla coming 10 meetings ago back in 2021 when Ronald Koeman was in charge.

On Saturday, Vincent Kompany’s all-conquering Bayern, fresh from smashing in another five goals in the Champions League, come up against an Eintracht Frankfurt side that have also been making headlines - both for the rate at which they are scoring, but also how many they’ve been shipping at the other end!
Across eight games in all competitions, Eintracht have amassed 28 goals but have let in 19, nine of which have come in their last two - last weekend’s 6-4 win over Gladbach and the midweek trip to Atlético Madrid where they lost 5-1.
Bayern have no such defensive concerns but with Harry Kane in the form he is currently in, it probably wouldn’t matter anyway, they could simply outscore everyone else. The England skipper has found the net 17 times since the Club World Cup, bagging at least a brace in each of his last five games.
The likelihood of their being goals in this one appears high.

Earlier in the week, ahead of a Champions League matchday in which both sadly suffered their first defeats in the competition, we took a look at Belgium football’s two dominant forces - Union Saint Gilloise and Club Brugge.
The two have finished first or second in three of the past four seasons and have become specialists in selling on their best players while replenishing their squads with imports from lesser leagues that are perhaps going untapped.
For example, Union picked up striker Promise David from the Estonian top flight ahead of the 2024/25 season, and he now looks like he’ll feature for Canada at next year’s World Cup.

Published prior to Palace making it 19 games without defeat with their 2-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Conference League, Sam McGuire detailed just what a good job Oliver Glasner has done with the club.
The first breakout star of the Xabi Alonso era at Real Madrid could be the next great Argentine in a long line of great Argentines to have played for Los Blancos. Zach Lowy profiles the teenage sensation that moved from River Plate following the Club World Cup.
